He was named to the All-County, Best of the Preps and All-Metro teams by the Commercial Appeal in the '05 &'06 seasons.
Wadley was also named to the 2006 All-State (coaches) and 1st Team All-Region 2-4A squads.
Senior season (5-6) stats: over 120 total tackles and seven sacks.
Wadley reports a 3.3 core GPA and a 17 ACT.
Wadley: "I played linebacker in high school, but I'm gonna be a defensive end in college. I have great speed off the ball and good awareness too. My footwork isn't too bad either, but I really want to improve my technique and my swim and rip moves."
Coach Anthony Jenkins
"First of all, he is a big kid, 6' 3", 245 or so who moves extremely well. He can play ILB or DE. We play him at ILB because we are short, but basically his position is DE on the college level."
"He just works hard and is a real cacheable young man. I coached his older brother, Johnny Wadley, and they are real similar in a lot of ways. His brother played OL in college. Both are well mannered off the field, but when the lights come on, they play hard and physical, just how it is suppose to be played."
"What separates Andre is that he played both ways (OL/ILB) because we were so thin on the OL, but he never complained and played both equally well, although he is a better DL prospect than an OL." |
