| Dayne Crist threw for 1,270 yards and 17 touchdown passes with only three interceptions in seven games for Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame and was named a first team all-state underclass pick in 2006. He also rushed for 400 yards and four touchdowns. Missed five games in the middle of the year after suffering a scary back injury in the opener, but returned to lead the Knights to the quarterfinals of the Pac-5 Playoffs. Threw five touchdown passes against Bishop Amat and threw for 292 yards against Long Beach Poly.
As a sophomore, spelled an injured Garrett Green (USC) midway through the season to keep the Knights unbeaten and helping them get to the CIF Division III title game.
He benches 265 pounds, squats 415 and has a 31-inch vertical jump.
Partial senior (6-1) stats: 1700+ yards passing with 14 touchdowns and only one interception. Crist has also has four touchdowns rushing.
Crist has a 3.6 core GPA and a 1710 SAT.
Crist: "I can make all the throws. I'm gonna do what it takes to win, whether that is making plays with my feet or my arm, I'll do it. I'm very intense, competitive and physical.
"As a quarterback you can never be too accurate and that's something I want to work on," he said. "I'd also like to improve my arm strength."
