Biography:
As a junior, Carroll completed 55 of 85 passes for 900 yards and 11 touchdowns to only two interceptions. He also rushed for 785 yards and 10 touchdowns on his way to earning first-team All-League and second-team All-County honors.

As a sophomore, Carroll earned second-team All-League and honorable mention All-County honors.

Carroll's father, Matt Carroll was a member of the 1976 National Championship Pittsburgh team.
