| Watson is a big, bruising back that runs with tremendous power. He's a north-south runner that is very tough between the tackles, especially when his shoulders are square and he’s running down hill. Watson runs with a low pad level, has good balance and quick feet for a bigger back. He also shows the ability to get yards after first contact. He doesn’t have great speed but he's the type of back that can control a game by moving the chains. |
| Biography: |
| Richard Watson is a talented running back who was the best player on the Class 1B state championship team as a junior. Finished his junior season with 2140 yards rushing for 34 touchdowns, ending the season with a 123-yard performance in the state title game; Watson benches 330 pounds.
Watson: "I'm strong and have good speed. I have great vision and good feet. I move really well and have a good combo of power and speed.
"I haven't reached my full potential yet, so I just want to keep improving. I want to focus on my pass blocking, catching out of the backfield and my overall speed."
