Named first team all-state in 2008. Posted 101 tackles -- with 13 for loss, four forced fumbles, two sacks an interception and two blocked extra points. He's a three-year All-Conference selection, a three-year starter and a three-year All-Academic team selection.
Following 2008 season, he was named to the Idaho Tribune all-area team, consisting of players from all state divisions. Also named to the 5A SIC All-Academic team. Team awards for '08 season included Most Valuable Defensive Player, Most Valuable LB.
In September '08, Markle hoisted two new personal maxes -- a 400-pound bench press and a 605-pound squat. He has since increased that squat number to 615 pounds in Jan of '09.
Markle won the 2007 US High School Powerlifting Championships and broke the National Total Record in the 242-pound weight class, a mark that had stood for nine years. |
