2007: The Tennessean's Defensive Most Valuable Player of 2007. Class 3A Mr. Football Lineman of the Year. First Team All-State voted by the TWSA. West All-Region as voted by the coaches. A member of The Tennesseean's Dream Team. AJC Super Southern 100, Press Register Super Southeast 120 #39.
Hightower was selected to play in the U.S. Army East West All-Star Game in San Antonio.
Hightower recorded 168 tackles (14 for loss), five forced fumbles, five interceptions and four fumble recoveries. He also added 875 yards and 19 touchdowns on offense.
Coach David O'Connor: "The sky is the limit for Dont'a. He can be as good as he wants to be. When he gets in and learns the system (at Alabama), I think he will be very productive as a freshman."
Rushed for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore in only four games of action.
As a junior, collected 98 tackles, two sacks, and seven forced fumbles. While at TE, he caught 18 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns. |
