Smith's junior regular season stats including a passing total of 2,214 yards with 137 completed passes of 202 attempts with 28 touchdowns giving him a 68% pass completion ratio. He rushed for 103 yards on 19 carries with three touchdowns.
Smith made first team ASWA 5A All-State during his junior (2007) season. Also honored by the Times-Journal as their Offensive Player of the year for DeKalby County and First Team (All Classes) Quarterback. Finalist for 5A Back of the Year.
Smith was given ASWA All-State Honorable Mention for his Sophomore efforts leading his team to an undefeated 10-0 regular season record and second round playoff appearance.
The sophomore was also named Class 5A All-Region 7 Honorable Mention.
