DeAngelo Peterson is a big, physical receiver that runs well and has good hands.
(Sr.) He caught 39 passes for 698 yards and 10 touchdowns, and also recorded 104 tackles, four sacks and picked off four passes from his safety spot. He was voted 1st Team Class 1A All-State on offense.
(Jr.) Finished his junior season with 43 receptions for 743 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, he had 76 tackles; Peterson benches 285 pounds, squats 400 and has a 34-inch vertical jump.
Peterson reports a 3.4 core GPA and a 1260 SAT.
Peterson: "I can play everything. I'm very athletic and am a hard worker. I'm pretty big too and have a good size advantage over most cornerbacks. I'd like to get stronger and be more physical."
Coach Mickey Joseph: "He's a big-time player. He can play a number of positions. I think he could easily beef up and be a defensive end. He's good in space, meaning he's good going to attack the ball. He's a good player. I think they are recruiting him as an athlete."
