Schuster earned third-team All-State honors as a senior at running back.
As a junior, Schuster played eight games, carrying the ball 179 times for 1042 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 45 yards and returned three kickoffs for 168 yards, a 56-yard average. He was voted first team All-County, All-League and All-Section at running back.
As a sophomore he also earned second team All-County honors at defense end.
Schuster received the scores from his first attempt at the SAT test in May and scored a 640 on verbal, a 670 on math and a 680 on the writing portion, giving him a 1990 out of 2400 total or a 1310 of 1600 if you don't include the written portion.
Schuster was selected as a member of the Super 11 team by the Journal News which consists of the top eleven players in New York Section One.
