| To say that Renner throws a nice deep ball would be an understatement. He shows great accuracy and touch on the deep pass. He can thread the needle when he has to. Deceptively athletic, he can get out of the pocket and hurt defenses with his legs. He is a coach’s son and it shows. He is a very cerebral player. As a junior, Renner completed 214 of 339 passes for 2749 yards and 32 touchdowns to only seven interceptions. He also carried the ball 124 times for 598 yards and 10 touchdowns. Overall he accounted for 42 touchdowns, 74-percent of the teams' scoring for the season. He was named first-team All-District, named the Patriot District Offensive Player of the year, was named first-team All-Northern Region and honorable mention All-Met by the Washington Post.
As a sophomore he was an All-Region wide receiver, catching 54 passes for 800 yards and nine touchdowns.
