| Javanti Sparrow is a talented prospect on both sides of the ball. In a game versus Hickory as a junior he had seven catches for 127 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Sparrow also runs track and says he may participate in both sports in college. He runs the 200m (21.22), 400 (47.63) and 500m (1:04:61).
Sparrow finished his senior season (9-2) with 37 receptions for over 700 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, he had around 30 tackles and two interceptions.
Sparrow says he's thinking about majoring in engineering and reports a 2.9 core GPA and 840 SAT, which he'll retake on Dec. 6.
Sparrow: "I have good speed and the ability to break away from the defender. I have great agility and quickness to the ball.
"I'm athletic and I fight for the deep ball on defense. I'm very physical, but I want to improve my footwork and get up to the ball better. I also want to work on my hips when going up to find the ball."
