| Playing what should be his future home in college of defensive tackle. Up from 245 pounds as a junior to 275 as a senior, Quarles shows strength and initial power off the snap that he had last season, but he does not have to show the speed that was a hindrance on the edge. For his size, he is now above average and moves very well on the interior; he just needs to get used to getting off of cut blocks from interior linemen. |
| Biography: |
A second team All-State selection, Quarles made 75 tackles, including 21 for a loss and 17 sacks as a junior.
Coach's Comments: "Kelcy is a dominating football player. His size, his speed, and his strength are very good. He just makes plays all over the field He's a hard-nosed player, and he's definitely going to be big. Kelcy can go 300-pounds easy and still run. It was amazing, he ran the 100-meters and the 200-meters in track at 260 pounds. His potential is unbelievable." |
