Ranked as the No. 52 "athlete" prospect in the country by ESPN.com in its post-season listing...Called a "surprise prospect" by that web site, indicating he could help immediately in the return game...Played quarterback at Salem (GA) HS...He started his final three years, first as wide receiver and then the final two years at QB...Rushed for 963 yards and nine touchdowns during that senior season, playing in just six games due to injury...Also completed 40 of 84 passes for 857 yards and five touchdowns in his final prep campaign...As a junior, he rushed for 1,053 yards and nine touchdowns and passed for 939 yards, six touchdowns in 10 games...Other top scholarship offers: Arkansas and Vanderbilt.
