| Pat Swilling finished his junior season with 25 tackles, 20 pass break-ups and seven interceptions. He also plays prep basketball (averages 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game), but plans on sticking with football in college. He says he can bench 275-pounds, squat 405 and has a 31-inch vertical jump.
Final senior (6-5) stats: 30 tackles, five interceptions and two fumbles caused
Swilling plans on majoring in business and reports a 3.2 core GPA and a 22 ACT.
Swilling: “I play corner in high school, but most schools are recruiting me for safety. I use my strength well and I can over power small receivers.
“I’m also good in coverage and just use everything I have. I’m that kind of guy that goes out and gives it everything I can.
“I’m trying to improve on my tackling ability and my awareness. I want o be a better overall defensive back.”
