Florida 2012 WR is one to Watch

Scout's Mike Bakas held a recruiting combine in Jacksonville over the weekend and nearly 200 kids showed up and competed. The MVP of the event went to Baker County wide receiver Kendrick Singleton.

Kendrick Singleton was one of several Baker County players who worked out at the event and he was given the MVP Award following the event.

Singleton, 6-0.5 and 183, ran a 4.70/40, 4.32/shuttle, jumped 34 inches on the vert, broad jumped 9-7, and did 22 reps at 185 on the bench. When the players broke into 1-on-1 drills, Singleton continued to shine and showed the skill set that will be very attractive to numerous college programs from across the country.

Singleton, who claims a 3.0 GPA in the classroom, talked about the event.

"I thought it was a great experience," he said. "I was happy to be around such great athletes. It was very helpful (working with the former NFL players who were instructing) and gave me an idea on what I need to do to become better. I really enjoyed it."

The standout receiver, who finished his junior season with 24 catches for 524 yards and four touchdowns, calls says his top five college choices right now are USF, UCF, Florida State, Florida, and Auburn.

He's still waiting for his first offer but expect those to start coming in very soon.
