Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial 2013 cornerback Johnny Johnson picks up his first offer..…
"It was out of nowhere," Johnny Johnson said about his offer from Colorado State. "After practice this (Thursday) morning, the [CSU] coach was asking for me and told [head] Coach [Anthony] Goston he was offering me." The Rams have had no previous contact with Johnson. "No letters at all," added Johnson. "I don't know anything about them buy I'm sure I will now. "It feels good. It was always my dream to get an offer. Now, I got it. They are my first, and I have to add more." Miami, Oregon State and Northern Arizona also stopped by the Memorial campus this week. The Panthers boast two of the best at their position in the 2012 class in offensive tackle David Keller and running back Chris Brown. Johnson and fellow 2013 prospect defensive lineman Jaylen Ruiz benefit from the exposure, evident by Johnson's early offer from CSU. While Colorado State will hold a spot on Johnson's list as his initial offer, he is favoring two Pac-12 schools. "SC and Oregon are up there," he says. "SC has come by and talked to my coaches, but I haven't heard anything from Oregon." Johnson is a traditional lockdown corner with long arms. But his physical play and his aggressiveness make him standout among the pack. We've dub him "The Show" because he's been a one-man show at every event we've seen him compete at this spring. He plans to compete a the USC Rising Stars Camp and the Elite DB Camp at Stanford next month as well as the Passing Down Elite 7-on-7 Best of the West in July.
