Analysis: Week Three in Mississippi

Week three in Mississippi has put several of the Magnolia state's top teams in a do-or-die situation, whether they admit it or not.

Marquee Match-up

Ben Still

Two programs who are looking to come out with something to prove are traditional rich South Panola (Miss) and MUS (Tenn). Both had their ego put in check after South Panola was bumped by Hoover and MUS against Ensworth.

A lot of feelings were hurt in both losses by both schools. Now each school is out to show that those games were an abbreviation and not a sign of what is to come and are out to gain a little respect back. MUS beat South Panola the last time they played at the Tiger's stadium. South Panola crushed them last year at MUS in a revenge game. Who will come out on top this time around? Will it be South Panola breaking in 17 new starters a quarterback who looks best fitted for defensive back and almost zero passing game going for them right now or is it going to be MUS who looked to be geating back on track after a 48-0 thumping over a very weak opponent in Kingsbury (Tenn)?

Prediction
South Panola 27-17

Players to Watch
South Panola
Jr/OL Deon Mix, JR/S Tony Conner, DT Issac Gross, DE Temario Strong.

MUS
CB Alex Dale, OG Ben Still, Jr/RB Shane Tucker, OL Nick Vergos, Jr/LB Ford Howell

Best of the Rest

Anthony Alford

**Any other week Petal at Madison Central would be the marquee match-up. This is going to pit a hungry pack of Jags trying to get in the win collumn after two tough losses to Olive Branch and Starkville. Petal on the hand got the start they were looking for when they beat always tough Wayne County but turned around the next week and lost to Picayune in a heartbreaker.

This will truly be a classic early season match-up between Petal's do-it-all signall caller Anthony Alford against a tough nosed Madison Central defense

Prediction

Madison Central 20
Petal - 17

Players to Watch

Petal
QB Anthony Alford

Madison Central
OL Devon Desper
DL Maurice Bennett
CB Shauntez Ball

Adarrius Perkins

**We just go through talking about how Picayune upset Petal last week and now they face one of the favorites in 4A Forrest County Ag. The Aggies have come out smoking while putting their foot down and not letting up against Stone County and Harrison Central. Picayune turned heads by beating Petal and a very good Gulfport team in the opening week.

Prediction
Forrest County Ag 17
Picayune 13

Players to Watch
Forrest County Ag
S Adarrius Perkins

Picayune
RB Scottie Merrill
