There are always sleeper prospects who explode onto the scene during their final year of eligibility…
Cohorn's improvement evident
Goose Cohorn has had a good year so far for Dixie Heights, as Zeke Pike's top receiver. But for Cohorn, it hasn't just been about receptions. He's doing the little things. While Dixie Heights sits at 1-3 this season, there is still time for them to make some plays and improve as a team. One player who has continually worked on his game is receiver Goose Cohorn. "I feel like I am playing excellent this year. My first game, I didn't play receiver and my third game against Highlands, I came out with a groin pull. So I have really only had two games at receiver," said Cohorn. "I feel like those two games, Zeke was able to put the ball where it needed to be and I made the play," he said. The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder has worked on a lot of the little things to get better and he can see where things have worked out. "I have noticed I am a better blocker from last season. I also notice my routes are more crisp and quicker," he said. There is still time for the team to reach their goals for the season and Goose believes they can still do that. "I want to win district and get a good seed in the playoffs. I want to make a good run for the state championship. Anything I can do for my team and my teammates that will help us win games," he continued. Cohorn plans to take some visits this fall and he's hearing from several schools right now, including Hanover, Capital, Denison, Manchester, Bluffton and Lindsey-Wilson. Scout.com will keep you posted on Cohorn in the coming months.
