Another Offer for Hand
2014 prospect Da'Shawn Hand has two more years, nearly to the day, to make a college decision - but that hasn't slowed schools from offering him scholarships as National Signing Day approaches for the Class of 2012. The Woodbridge High (VA) two-way lineman already has heard verbal offers from Michigan, Syracuse, North Carolina State, Boston College, Virginia Tech and Rutgers - and another school has jumped in to the mix. "Virginia has offered Da'Shawn as well," said Hand's coach Kevin Smith. "And Penn State is showing interest too." Hand was named one of the top performers at the U.S. Army All-American Combine earlier this month. Said National Recruiting Analyst Bob Lichtenfels of Hand, "There was arguably not a more talented group at the U.S. Army National Underclassman Combine than the defensive line. In the end the most impressive player that we saw was Class of 2014 prospect Da'Shawn Hand. Hand is a specimen and he showed that not only does he look the part, but he backs it up with his play on the field as well. Hand had his way with everyone during the one-on-one portion of the combine. He has the potential to be one of the top five players in the East Region for the Class of 2014."
