Clemson Checks in on Isaac
Though he is still searching for his first offer, Henry County High (GA) defensive lineman D'Von Isaac has been hearing from a handful of schools early in the recruiting process. The latest school to check in on him was Clemson – visiting his school recently. "They came by the school last week on Thursday and coach [Marion] Hobby, the defensive end coach, was talking to me a little bit about how I was doing and how everything else was going for me," said Isaac. "I guess he was just studying me and looking at me to see how I'm looking – because that's the first time I had ever seen him. "He just talked about how he's seen me play, how he likes what he's seen on the field and everything and he just wanted to see me in person," Isaac continued. "How I look in my stature, things like that. "I've lost five pounds, down to 275." The 6-foot-4 two-way lineman was taken back a bit by the visit form the reigning ACC champions. "It influenced me a little bit," Isaac said of the visit. "They're the first school to come out and see me." Still, Isaac is not ready to play favorites to early in his recruitment. Next up for him is a trip to Athens on Saturday after he was invited to Georgia for Junior Day. He has a goal for the day-long event as well. "Just to impress them," said Isaac. "Show them what I'm like out of pads, out of uniform on a football field. "And to just have a good time with the coaches and meet the other recruits that are out there." As for what else he has been up to? "Right now I'm just staying humble and studying in the books and making good grades in school," said Issac.
