Detroit Cass Tech (Mich.) junior cornerback Jourdan Lewis adds a Big Ten offer…
Lewis Excited by Newest Offer
The pregame routine for each basketball game Jourdan Lewis plays was disturbed this week when he received the potentially distracting news of a Michigan football offer minutes prior to going out on the court. "I was in the locker room getting ready," the Cass Tech junior said. "Coach Wilcher came in and said Fred Jackson called and wanted to talk to me and I talked to him and he said he wanted to give me an offer on Signing Day. It wasn't hard to concentrate [on basketball]. I was really excited though." Lewis says he had a chance to tell his family after the game. "They were excited for me because they know I really want that school," he admitted. Then he talked to Terry Richardson and Royce Jenkins-Stone, two of his teammates who are signed on to play at Michigan next year. "They told me they were happy for me and to take it slow for right now." Lewis says that with basketball and other obligations, he has not truly thought about a decision timeline. He is still hearing from a number of other schools including Purdue, Iowa, Michigan State and Notre Dame. He also has yet to set any visits or junior days. As a junior, Lewis did it all for Cass Tech, grabbing eight interceptions from his corner spot. He also had 11 combined touchdowns, including five on kick or punt returns. Because of his versatility, he says his exact college position is still up in the air. "[Coach Jackson] didn't tell me that. I think it's an athlete right now. I don't know for sure."
