Florida DB closing in on offer

Florida DB closing in on offer

Sam Jallah is a standout defensive back prospect from Wekiva High and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Sam Jallah is still waiting on his first Division 1 scholarship offer but he believes it may come soon.

"I was at Temple's camp last weekend," he said. " I did real good out there and made a new personal best and jumped a 11-foot broad. During 1-on-1's I had real good coverage and the DB coach had asked me with a group of other players to stay and get more reps while everyone else ate lunch."

The Owls didn't offer following the camp but Jallah believes it may come soon.

"I had talked to my recruiting coach when I came back home and he said they are really interested and that they are going to continue recruiting me throughout the season."

Temple isn't the only school showing interest in him.

"Indiana, Vandy, North Dakota, Chattanooga, Western Kentucky, Purdue, Duke, Citadel, South Alabama, and Wake Forest are interested too."

Jallah, 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, talked about what he'll be looking for in a school.

"A team that really value the game of football, one that's family oriented, has an environment that will make me feel at home just in case I leave far from home, nice facilities, a campus with a great college atmosphere, and most importantly a school that guide me into becoming successful once I finish playing ball."

Jallah finished his junior season with 66 tackles and two interceptions.

As a Prospect: The first thing that jumps out about Jallah is his top notch athleticism. He can run. He can change directions. He's been as high as 42 inches on the vert and shows some of that explosiveness when he makes tackles. He has shown he can be active near the line of scrimmage, as an in-the-box safety and he's also shown the ability to drop into coverage and make plays there. He's one of the better safety prospects in the central Florida area in the 2013 class.
