David Smith: Junior Highlights

David Smith: Junior Highlights

The spring evaluation period was a busy time for David Smith. The Warwick High (Newport News, Va.) standout picked up several scholarship offers. See him in action in the presentation by FOX Sports Next.

David Smith has seen his stock rise rapidly over the past several months. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound outside linebacker has scholarship offers from Marshall, Howard, Bucknell, Virginia Tech, Richmond, Navy, ODU, Temple, Hampton, and William & Mary. He recently named a top five Duke, Marshall, Old Dominion, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. He plans to graduate in December and enroll early at the school he chooses.

Smith is a prospect whose best football is ahead of him. He does so many things for the Warwick defense. Smith really comes off the ball hard and does a nice job using his hands. He really understands the game and has very good instincts. Although he is extremely quick, Smith does a nice job playing under control and finding the football. He takes good angles and is relentless in pursuit. With added weight and his ability to play sideline to sideline, Smith has the potential to be a very good college football player.
