West: Preseason Top Ten Offensive Tackles
West: Preseason Top Ten Offensive Tackles 1. Nico Falah Location: Bellflower, Calif. High School: St. John Bosco Size: 6-5, 270 Recruiting: Committed to USC The Skinny: Falah is an athletic tackle who moves very well. He's a physical player, who finishes his blocks and plays with a mean streak. He has a great frame and will have no problem adding another 25 pounds or so in college. He shows very good lateral mobility and projects as a prototype left tackle at the next level. He benefits playing in a pro style offense and is equally solid as a both a run blocker and pass protector. As he continues to add strength in his upper body, he'll take his game to another level. 2. Evan Voeller Location: West Linn, Ore. High School: West Linn Size: 6-5/285 Recruiting: Committed to Oregon The Skinny: Voeller can play guard or tackle in college and has been one of state's best lineman since his sophomore year. He physically manhandles opposing players at the high school level and is a true road grader. He's very strong and does a great job finishing his blocks. He plays through the whistle and has improved his overall athleticism tremendously in the last year and a half. Whether he plays guard or tackle in college will be determined by how his overall quickness continues to improve. Had a great showing at the Oregon NFTC inside Autzen Stadium, where he'll play his college ball. 3. Kenny Lacy Location: Phoenix, Ariz. High School: Mountain Pointe Size: 6-5/260 Recruiting: Arkansas, Nebraska, UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona The Skinny: Lacy is an extremely athletic offensive tackle prospect that has his best football in front of him. Has only played OL for one season. What you look for in a true tackle prospect; has long arms, good feet, and is very athletic. Still raw in his technique but that will develop as he plays more. Has the frame to be a 300+ pounder without losing his athletic ability. 4. Erik Bunte Location: Santa Margarita, Calif. High School: Santa Margarita Size: 6-7/310 Recruiting: Committed to UCLA The Skinny: Bunte might have been the tallest guard in the country last year, at any level. Despite his height, Bunte did a great job at guard playing low and showing his athleticism. He moves very well in space and has above average athleticism. His long arms and great lateral mobility are prototype for a future tackle and it will be exciting to see Bunte develop over the coming season. 5. Sean Dowling Location: Fallbrook, Calif. High School: Fallbrook Size: 6-6/265 Recruiting: Committed to UCLA The Skinny: Dowling is one of the most athletic tackles in the region and does as good a job at getting in to the second level as anyone. He has a great frame, very solid, not sloppy and shows the toughness needed to excel at the next level. He plays through the whistle and once he engages his man, the play is over. The Next Five: 6. Dan Skipper, (Ralston Valley, Colo.)- Committed to Tennessee 7. Poasi Moala, (Moreno Valley, Calif.)- Committed to Washington 8. J.D. Hinnant, (Fountain Valley, Calif.) 9. Riley Sorenson, (Santa Margarita, Calif.) 10. Jacob Alsadek, (Torrey Pines, Calif.)- Committed to Arizona National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins (@GregBiggins), National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager Brandon Huffman (@BrandonHuffman), Southwest Recruiting Analyst Jason Jewell (@jason247scout) and Northwest Recruiting Analyst Jake Worthen (@JakeWorthen) contributed to these rankings.
