OL remains committed despite new offer
But the Cavaliers were in talks with Tetlow behind the scenes and recently Virginia let Tetlow know that he would have a scholarship offer to the school. "It was pretty unexpected," the Wake commit said. "Especially with the whole relationship I had built up with Jim Reid. He had called me up for two years and said, 'We'll offer yet...we won't jump in at the last minute. It wouldn't be fair to you.' "With him being gone that rule didn't still apply but it was still very surprising. They did it well. They told my coach they were thinking about offering me." It gave Tetlow something to think about. Virginia commands a lot of respect in the Commonwealth and every year they sign some of the state's top players. But after some serious soul-searching Tetlow decided to say no thanks. "I talked about it with my parents and decided not to," he said. "The UVa coaches ultimately placed me only as a guard. I don't mind playing anywhere but the Wake Forest coaches said I could play tackle, center or guard. I'd much rather have the opportunity to go to a place where I'll have more positions to get a shot to play at. "I also feel like I connected with the coaches at Wake more than UVa in the short time that I knew them."
