St. Xavier junor Treyveon Percell had a nice junior year in a backup role, but he didn't show backup…
Introducing: Treyveon Percell
St. Xavier had a three-headed monster at running back last season with Charles Walker and fellow juniors Austin Davis and Treyveon Percell. FOX Sports Next caught up Percell to discuss his junior year. Treyveon Percell had a big year for St. X, rushing for 643 yards and 12 touchdowns as a backup. The 5-foot-10, 188-pound back, felt good about his performance last season. "I feel like I played pretty good, being in the situation I was in (as a backup). I got better and better as the season went along," said Percell. Percell took advantage of the skills he possesses to contribute to St. Xavier's 8-5 season. "I'm very fast. My footwork is really good and I run hard," he said. "I'm trying to improve my receiving skills. I'm trying to improve my cuts even more and staying a tad bit lower when I run." Percell has taken one trip at this point, but he's got an interest in a few programs and he hopes to hear from them in the future. "I'm looking at Ohio State, Miami (Oh.), Louisville and some other schools. I have went to Miami, but other than that, I haven't been to or heard from any of the schools, "he said. Next year will be a big year for Percell and St. Xavier as it's his senior year and an opportunity to win a state championship and show more colleges what he's capable of. "I'm very excited about next year. It's going to be amazing. We have a lot of guys coming back and we also have new coaches. I can't wait to see how we develop as a team," he finished.
