Class of 2014 football prospect Sedrick Palmer is interested in the Auburn Tigers…
UGA changes Palmer's perspective
On Saturday, February 16th, junior running back Sedrick Palmer took an unofficial visit to the University of Georgia with the notion that it may not be his style. The 'Dawgs changed his mind. "It was great," Palmer said of the trip to Athens. "In the fall when I visited, I didn't like it as much as I did this time around. This visit totally changed my perspective on UGA." Palmer admits as an outside looking in, he did not know what to expect from Georgia until he was able to connect with the coaching staff. "Once I got on campus, I realized how much the coaches truly care about the players," Palmer explained. "It was my connection with the coaching staff that changed my mind." Although he hasn't received an official offer yet, Palmer says the feedback he's gotten from the coaches indicates an opportunity in the future. "They've told me they like my size and that it always takes a few guys to bring me down," Palmer said. "They told me I'm one of the most college-ready backs in my class. "They're going to keep an eye on me," Palmer continued. "They want me to come back for the spring game and for spring practice." This week, Palmer has already spoken with running backs coach Bryan McClendon on Facebook. "He told me he's watched me before and likes me a lot," Palmer said of the conversation. "They're going to keep watching me through my senior year." Palmer will play his senior season at Henry County High School (GA) this fall. Recently, Palmer has also heard from the University of Tennessee after a Junior Day visit just weeks ago. "[Running backs] Coach Graham invited me back to campus on March 9th for the first spring practice," Palmer said. Upcoming visits for Palmer include Tennessee on March 9th, along with possible visits to Auburn on February 23rd and UCF on March 1st. --- UPDATE: Palmer confirms plans to be on campus at Auburn Saturday, February 23rd.
