JUCO DT Talks 'Cats and K-State Interest

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Calvin Heurtelou was without any D-1 offers in 2011 when he graduated from Spring Valley (N.Y.) High School. After spending a year at prep school in upstate New York, the 6-foot-3, 308-pound defensive tackle decided to head west and landed at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College in the Phoenix area for more recognition.

Now Heurtelou is hearing from many of the top programs in the nation and has seven D-1 offers to his credit. It was K-State that was the first staff to see the potential in Heurtelou and came through with his first offer in March. "Kansas State offered me after seeing my highlight tape," said Heurtelou.
