Falah, a former teammate of Mama's at Bosco, has spent a lot of time trying to convince Mama to commit to USC. Mama says it is making an impact, "It kind of is," Mama told FOX Sports NEXT on the phone Wednesday.
The four-star recruit spent the day at USC, though he did not participate in Rising Stars.
Mama, instead, sat down with current Trojans J.R. Tavai and John Martinez. An important aspect of Mama's college selection will be the Polynesian community at the school. Mama was happy to sit down with Tavai and Martinez to talk about the "Samoan way".
"They are telling me to take my time," Mama explained. "It just helps to have them confirm what I really want to do, which is take my time."
Mama said he's had the chance to say hello to the guys after games, but this was his first opportunity to really get to know them.
Tavai and Martinez weren't the only ones to spend time with Mama. The USC coaches gave him the top-target treatment, as five of them each spent time talking to him -- including USC head coach Lane Kiffin, defensive line coach Ed Orgeron, receivers coach Tee Martin, and offensive line coaches Mike Summers and James Cregg.
Asked what the coaches had to say to Mama, he laughed and said "Come to USC".
Mama's next stop will be at The Opening in Beaverton (Ore.).
