The Opening: Kavin Alexander Update
Scout.com's complete coverage of The Opening 2013 presented by NIKE Even at The Opening, there are recruits still trying to prove themselves and earn college scholarships. For Kavin Alexander, he's trying to land his first. This cornerback prospect from North Little Rock, Ark. plays bigger than his 5-foot-9 and 180-pound frame. "I came here to show everyone that I can play. I can play ball against the bigger wide receivers," Alexander said. "It doesn't matter that I am a smaller corner. I can play. I have a big heart." Alexander has been impressive and more than holding his own. He's hoping that that first offer is right around the corner. "The two teams that are really recruiting me are Arkansas and Georgia Tech," Alexander said. "I am going to camp at Georgia Tech on July 19th. I really enjoyed my last visit there. I went for a junior day. I like that staff and their players." Of course the home town Razorbacks are on his list as well. And he's hoping he's on their list too. "I don't know what to think about Arkansas," Alexander said. "Sometimes things seem good. And then nothing happens. I just have to keep working at it." Alexander camped at both Arkansas and Arkansas State so far this summer. Last fall he finished with 43 tackles and two interceptions.
