Monroe Makes Saturday Decision

Washington, D.C., three-star cornerback ended his recruitment by picking the Nittany Lions.

During a recent Coaches Caravan stop in Washington, D.C., Penn State head coach James Franklin hinted good news on the recruiting front may be on the horizon out of the D.C. area.

Saturday afternoon, his prediction came true.

Washington, D.C., St. John's three-star safety Ayron Monroe verbally pledged to the Nittany Lions just two weeks after he declared Penn State and Maryland were showing him the most interest. He picked State over offers from over 10 other programs.

The junior has played mostly safety in high school, and recently told FOS he would prefer to play it in college because he feels most comfortable there. Penn State not only offered him that opportunity, but also informed him that he sat atop their board at the position, Monroe said.

He joins three-star safety Jarvis Miller at the position in the Lions' now 16 member class of 2015.
