Big offer for Wharton
Christian County senior-to-be Devon Wharton says he picked up an offer from Kentucky this week. While he's happy about the opportunity, he's not yet satisfied. Devon Wharton stood out again at Kentucky's camp over the weekend. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete, is a versatile athlete who could play at either safety or linebacker on the next level. His athleticism, size and versatility led to his biggest offer to date. "Kentucky offered me," Wharton said. "It feels good to get that offer. I hope I get more," he continued. Wharton said the staff had been considering offering him for a while. He spent time talking with Mark Stoops "He told me I did good at the camp. They have been looking at me for a long time. He said I would love to have you play for us at Kentucky," Wharton said. The Kentucky offer is set alongside Wharton's other offers from Western Kentucky, Tennessee State, Austin Peay and Murray State. But he's not quite ready to pull the trigger on a commitment. "I'm going to hold off on committing for a while. Louisville said they are going to call me. Then Tennessee has been talking to me too," he said. Wharton will head to Western Kentucky tomorrow.
