Check out defensive standouts from Wisconsin's one day camp Sunday on campus…
Ruzek Ready for Wisconsin Camp
With a lot of the attention on the offered targets coming in to visit Wisconsin this weekend, one of the subplots for the Badgers only high school football camp is the number of in-state recruits hoping to impress the coaching staff and earn a scholarship offer. Last year Stevens Point defensive end Andrew Ruzek displayed his skills, but didn't do enough to earn a scholarship offer. He's camping once again and is ready to show Wisconsin what he is all about. "I'm really excited," Ruzek told BadgerNation. "It will be great to workout in front of the coaches again and get to talk to them again. I just want to show them that I've improved in the past year and that I'm a top recruit." At the moment, the 6-6, 240-pound Ruzek holds offers from Eastern Michigan, Illinois State Miami (OH) and Western Michigan. Currently the No. 57 ranked defensive end in the country and a three-star recruit by Scoutcom, Ruzek is also hearing from Central Michigan, Harvard, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, North Dakota State, Princeton and Rutgers. What would a Badgers offer mean to the in-state linebacker if he earned one at camp? "It would be awesome," said Ruzek. "It would be my first Big Ten offer, which would be my biggest offer yet." Ruzek will also be camping at Minnesota on the 22nd.
