Devine Ozigbo has plenty of college options. About two dozens, to be exact.
The 5-foot-11, 230-pound running back has piled up offers during the spring semester. Now, he appears to have narrowed his long list of choices, with a couple of caveats, as he noted Sunday evening when tweeted his top eight schools.
Ozigbo, who Scout.com rates as a three-star prospect, listed Iowa, Wisconsin, Boise State, Boston College, Kansas, Mississippi State, Iowa State, and Kansas State, noting that the list was in no particular order and that he would consider schools not currently in his top eight.
Ozigbo has been a rising prospect for the past couple of months. He held single-digit offers entering the spring, but has seen his stock soar in the eyes of recruiters as he has amassed more than 20 offers.
Ozigbo ran for 947 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior in 2013, when he also caught 23 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns, helping Sachse to an 11-1 season.
However, despite holding 22 offers, only two are in-state schools: SMU and UTSA. Ozigbo has four Big Ten offers: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. He also has offers from schools such as Miami, San Diego State, Syacuse, Utah, and Wake Forest.
The 2014 season could be a big one for Sachse. The Mustangs boast not only Ozigbo, but two 2016 Scout four-star prospects -- receiver Devin Duvernay and cornerback Jared Mayden -- and 2015 offensive lineman Ben Moye, who announced Sunday his commitment to Louisiana-Monroe.
