New offers, new top five

Mecole Hardman had a busy weekend attending two college games. He has added two new offers and he names a new top five here...

It got started Saturday for Mecole Hardman, a Scout 300 prospect out of Elberton (Ga.) Elbert County.

He spent Saturday in Athens, Ga. and he left with a new scholarship offer.

"After the game, Georgia offered me," said Hardman. "Coach [Jeremy] Pruitt (Defensive coordinator) offered me as a corner. It is a big offer.

"I watched the game against Clemson and it was great. Coach Pruitt told me after the game that he would love for me to be a Bulldog and that I could make a big impact there."

A day after watching the Bulldogs beat Clemson, he saw Tennessee take care of Utah State.

Like many recruits have said over the years, it was that crowd inside Neyland Stadium that stood out to Hardman the most.

"Tennessee was crazy. It was loud -- real loud. Those 102,000 fans is no joke. It was lod the whole game."

The Vols offered the 5-foot-11, 165 pound athlete a while ago and it has been high on his list for some time.

Georgia has joined the Vols high on Hardman's list, but another SEC school has too. It offered earlier this week.

"Coach [Will] Muschamp (Head coach) offered me as a wide receiver," said Hardman. "He told me that Florida is really interested in me and that he wants me to get down there for a game.

"Florida is great school -- they have a great academic and football program.

"Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Clemson are my top schools now."

The four-star junior is not looking to make a decision any time soon. He is exploring his options and he is open to playing offense or defense on the next level.

Hardman does not plan to attend a college game this weekend, but he will be in Columbia, S.C. Saturday September 13 to see South Carolina host Georgia.

Scout ranks Hardman as the No. 215 overall prospect in 2016. Recommended Stories
