Ready To Announce
Hemet (Calif.) offensive lineman Hamani Stevens is a little less than 24 hours away from making his decision on where he'll attend college, public. "I'm announcing it on Wednesday at noon at my school," said Stevens. "I've somewhat made up my mind. I'm not totally sure, but for the most part, I've decided. I'll know for sure (today), and make the announcement on Wednesday. For Stevens, it is simple: Oregon or UCLA. He visited Oregon officially in the fall and numerous times, came close to committing to the Ducks. He'd already committed to UCLA once, during the summer, though it was short lived. Last weekend, Stevens took an unofficial visit to UCLA, having already taken his five official trips elsewhere. "It was good, I really, really liked it," said Stevens. "I got to meet Norm Chow and he's a really awesome guy. He knows what he's doing. And Coach (Bob) Palcic has been there since day one. He watched my film from day one and got UCLA recruiting me again." Stevens said if he was leaning towards one place, it was UCLA, but his family was a major part of that. "They don't want to travel and go all over the place, so they'd like me close by," said Stevens. "But they said they'd support me with whatever decision I make." In the meantime, Stevens said he's going to spend Tuesday firming up his decision than wake up Wednesday, ready to end his recruitment. "I'm ready to get this over with," said Stevens.
