Parker Can Lock It Down
Antonio Parker (6'0, 160, 4.5) has been pursuing a dream since he was a young child and the talented corner has no thoughts of quitting. The Destrehan High School product is willing to do whatever it takes to reach the next level. He has already received a few looks, but is confident he will draw interest from more teams once his highlight reels are prepared. "I've been receiving letters from ULL, Alabama and Mississippi State," Parker explained. "Mississippi State also sent me an invitation for their junior day on March 1st. I will be going to that camp with two other guys that are on my team (Rufus Porter and Darrington Sentimore). Parker enjoys the early interest but there is one team close to home he is anxiously waiting to hear from. "LSU is really the team I am waiting to hear from though," Parker added. "I am still waiting for my coaches to finish completing my highlight tapes so I can start sending them out to schools. I think I'll hear from more schools once I get my tapes out. Since I was a kid, I always wanted to go to LSU. I've been with LSU all the way. Even when I was in middle-school I was wearing LSU stuff. You can ask anyone." The shut-down corner admitted to be waiting for a big time offer, but at the same time he claimed he will not shun away any offers from smaller schools. "ULL is one of the schools I will be considering," Parker stated. "As far as college goes in my opinion, ULL is just as good as any other school. If you are playing at the Division 1 level then everyone on the team should be good, right? "LSU is known for having a bunch of really good players then say a team like ULL who may only have one or two," Parker continued. "So if I could go to LSU and start at cornerback then that would be saying a lot about me." Note: As a junior, Parker recorded 33 tackles and picked off nine passes earning him All-State, All-District and All-Metro honors.
