Mitchell Named A-10 Rookie Of Week

Saint Louis University freshman guard Kwamain Mitchell (Milwaukee, Wis./Dominican) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the period ending Feb. 14.

The honor is Mitchell's first of his Billiken career, and the second by a SLU freshman this season, following Willie Reed on Jan. 4.

Mitchell averaged 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and four assists over three contests last week. He shot 50 percent (16-of-32) from the field on the week and connected on four 3-pointers.

Mitchell began the week by registering career highs of 23 points and eight rebounds in the Billikens' 85-72 triple-overtime win at Richmond on Feb. 8. He followed with 14 points, six boards and five assists on Feb. 11, in the Billikens' victory over Charlotte. At Rhode Island on Feb. 14, Mitchell led SLU with 17 points and added five rebounds and four assists.

The Billikens (15-10, 6-5 A-10) welcome Saint Joseph's to Chaifefz Arena on Wed., Feb. 18, in a 9 p.m. game. The game has been designated as the "Billiken Blizzard," and all fans are encouraged to wear white.
